MAYOR
Greg Jones was elected in November 2006 to serve as Crowley’s mayor for the 2007-2010 term. This move into City Hall comes after having completed two terms on the Crowley Board of Aldermen.
Jones brings over 20 years of business and financial experience to the office. During his time in the private sector, he was the vice-president of the First National Bank and continues to sit on the bank’s board of directors. He has also taught courses pertaining to banking at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for the American Institute of Banking. Most recently, Jones served as vice-chairman of KALEM, LLC an oil and gas investment company which he also co-owns.
With his background, Mayor Jones will incorporate good business practices into city government to stimulate economic growth and improve city services for Crowley’s citizens. His goal is to improve the quality of daily life and attract higher paying job opportunities while preserving Crowley’s historic beauty and uniqueness.
Mayor Jones is a member of Kiwanis International and has coached various sports through the Crowley Recreation Department and local elementary schools over the last fifteen years. Currently, he coaches the boys and girls track teams at St. Michael’s Elementary school.
Mr. Jones is a graduate of Louisiana State University and Crowley High School. He is married to his wife of 20 years, Charlotte, and they have one son, Kyle; 19, and one daughter, Alex; 13.
