LTPA TO INDUCT NEW OFFICERS, BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Leadership will continue to build on past success
Baton Rouge, La. (June 12, 2008) - The Louisiana Travel Promotion Association (LTPA) will induct new officers and board members at the 2008 Annual Meeting and President’s Council Luncheon on Friday, June 13, 2008, at the Petroleum Club in Lafayette. International Culinary Tourism Association President and CEO, Erik Wolf will deliver keynote address.
“We are honored to be hosting such an event that strengthens the tourism industry,” said Gerald Breaux, LTPA Board Member and Executive Director, Lafayette Convention and Visitors Commission. “We could not be more thankful for all that has been accomplished under this year’s leadership. We are excited to welcome our new officers and board members and look forward to achieving more success in the coming fiscal year.”
New officers to be installed include Chairman of the Board, Celeste Gomez, Louisiana Certified Travel Professional (LCTP), St. Landry Parish Tourist Commission; First Vice Chair, Sharon Alford, LCTP, Houma Area Convention and Visitors Bureau; Second Vice Chair, Alana Cooper, Monroe-West Monroe Convention and Visitors Bureau and Secretary/Treasurer, Fran Thibodeaux, Iberia Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau. New Board of Directors include Gerald Breaux, Fellow Certified Destination Management Executive (FCDME), LCTP, Lafayette Convention and Visitors Commission; Kyle Edmiston, Ruston-Lincoln CVB; Charlotte Jeffers, City of Crowley and Elizabeth McDougal, LCTP, St. Bernard Parish Tourist Commission.
Under the direction of current officers, LTPA has obtained more than 700 members statewide and launched Louisiana Culinary Trails, the largest, comprehensive culinary tourism campaign in the United States. Erik Wolf, President and CEO of the International Culinary Tourism Association and Publisher of FoodTrekker has been instrumental in the success of the Culinary Trails program and will deliver keynote remarks on the emerging culinary tourism trend and discuss ways Louisiana can partner with the International Culinary Tourism Association to market the state’s unique culinary assets and attract visitors.
The Lafayette event will take place on Friday, June 13, 2008, at 11:30 a.m. at the Petroleum Club.
