On November 17, 2021, Crowley Main Street presented Mayor Monceaux with a check for $5,000 towards the city’s $20,000 project to re-survey all resources in the Crowley Historic District.
The re-survey project is the first phase to updating Crowley’s historic district National Register nomination, which has not been updated since 1982. Updating National Register district allows for expanded period of significance and increased participation in historic tax credit and economic incentive programs. The City of Crowley will provide a $5,000 match, with additional funding provided by a $10,000 Certified Local Government Grant awarded to the City of Crowley for the survey project.
